About
Hi, I’m Michael. I’m the grower and plant enthusiast behind Verdant Touch. My plant journey began in my 20’s as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala, where I worked on reforestation projects and developed a deep respect for the land and the farmers who work it. After my service, I stayed in Guatemala and started an oyster mushroom
business, which is where I was first introduced to tissue culture and greenhouse cultivation. Later, I bought a farm in a tropical area to grow rambutan and durian, fruits that I had experienced as a child when traveling through Asia.
When I returned to California, I continued that passion by growing unusual fruits like cherimoyas, white sapotes, and dragon fruit.
Today, I channel all those experiences into Verdant Touch, where I propagate rare Philodendrons, Monsteras, Alocasias, and Anthuriums using plant tissue culture. Each plant I sell is carefully tended, disease-free, and packed by me. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just starting out, I hope my plants bring you the same joy they’ve
brought me though a lifetime of growing.
