Thriving Plants, Ready for Your Home

Explore rare plants

From Our Lab
Where it all Begins
In a quiet lab, tiny plantlets multiply and take root in glass jars. Sterile tools, steady hands, and months of tending - all so you can enjoy having a thriving, disease-free plant at home. Every one starts as an experiment in care.

Grown With Care
Your plant's journey continues from the lab to a climate-controlled greenhouse. Here they'll grow and harden off under diffuse sunlight, ventilation, and lower humidity. Your plant's journey doesn't end when it leaves the greenhouse. Each order is wrapped, protected, and sent with detailed care instructions - so your new companion thrives from day one.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
When do you ship?
I ship on Mondays or Tuesdays to avoid having plants sit in the post office over the weekend.
What is LECA?
LECA is short for lightweight expanded clay aggregate. The potted plants are grown in this media because it provides superior aeration and rooting substrate. It also discourages certain pests. All nutrients are added during watering.
What are starter plants grown in?
Starter plants are grown in peat moss plugs. The plugs are pH balanced and provide a sponge-like medium for root growth.
What is plant tissue culture?
Plant tissue culture is a way to micro-propagate plants using plant growth regulators in a sterile laboratory environment.
Are plants listed TC (tissue culture) plants?
Yes, the majority are. I have my own
laboratory and have developed unique protocols for many of the varieties I sell. TC
plants have the advantage of starting off free of any diseases.
When can I transplant the plant I purchased?
You can transplant it into your own soil
mix immediately upon arrival. This goes for the starter plants in plugs or the plants in
LECA. Your plant will do best in bright, but indirect light.
What is an aroid mix?
An aroid mix is a non-soil based mix that you can make yourself. Typically, it will contain 1/3 perlite, 1/3 peat, and 1/3 orchid bark. Regular nursery soil mixes tend to be too dense and prone to waterlogging. The perlite and peat provide water retention. The peat also helps make the mix slightly acidic which will help with nutrient uptake. The orchid bark will help with aeration.
My plant didn’t survive shipping. What do I do?
Reach out to me immediately and let me
know. Either I’ll send a replacement or give you a refund.
What is the shipping option “Hold for Pickup”?
If the weather is either too hot or too cold,
I can ship the plant to your nearest post office. This way it’ll typically be stored in a
protected indoor environment. You’ll get an email or text notification when it’s ready for
pickup. You’ll just need to bring ID.
How long does a heat pack last?
A heat pack will last 72 hours from when your plant is shipped. During cold months it’s essential for receiving a happy plant.
